Eco-Friendly Cleaning Products

So, I organized my under-the-sink area and promised myself I’d not go out and buy any more cleaners after finding all those duplicate kinds of cleaners. What would be the most obvious choice for a follow-up story the next day?

Why, new kitchen cleaners to buy, of course! (I know, right?!)

I couldn’t help it. They were on the brain and I just got carried away and wanted to see what was out there. Because in addition to cleaning up, sorting out, and organizing all over (and any other preposition I can add to that list), I want to “go green” as much as possible. I’m not recycling … yet. It’s just a little too much to ask while I’m in the middle of this big 365-day organizational push. It’s coming, though. I promise! In the meantime, I’m a huge fan of any cleaner that doesn’t utilize any more chemicals than absolutely necessary to get the job done.

I’ve seen several of these in the stores and around places I’ve been, but here’s a round-up of products I found in my online hunt (while watching Biggest Loser last night; love that show!). I am especially loving the dye and perfume free items, as my allergies are very sensitive to those two things:

1) Seventh Generation Natural Free & Clear Dish Detergent – $3.99; 2) Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day Lemon Verbena Countertop Spray – $3.99; 3) Clorox Green Works Compostable Cleaning Wipes – $6.49; 4) Arm & Hammer Laundry Detergent Essentials 2x Concentrate Free of Perfumes and Dyes, 26 Loads – $9.79; 5) Method Smarty Dish Detergent – $5.99

It’s all your fault… the new eco-friendly cleaning supplies I bought to replace what I was out of… like laundry detergent. I bought some Seventh Gen laundry detergent that was not only better for me than my free and clear major brand, but actually did more loads and was less expensive. Funny how that worked out… =oD

    • Love it! Hope you like them. Let me know how the Seventh Generation laundry detergent works out for you. I might get some, myself. We currently use the Arm & Hammer unscented kind.

I will as soon as I use it! I officially finished up my tide this week, so I’ll use the 7th Gen the next time I wash something =o)

used. love. my clothes are clean and don’t make me smell like the weird almost-hippie chick that uses too much petchouli. love. try it out!

however, their version of the clorox wipes? they kind of smell a little funny…

my next move? try natural shampoo/conditioner. I’m hating mine right now…
